OUR STORY

THE STORY OF UNIFIED CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS

In 2001 Jason Haws left his previous job and became Ameriseal & Restoration’s first employee.  He knew it was just what he always wanted to do. Within a week he declared that he wanted to work at ASR for the rest of his working life until he retirement.  Expressing this to his father, who also began a new job that same week after 20+ years with his former employer, Jason was met with heavy skepticism.  Having many years of wisdom and life experience, his father argued, “Job security is a thing of the past, and you will work more than one place during your working career.”

Driven by sheer ambition, passion for the construction industry, and while truly enjoying where he worked as well as what he was doing, Jason declared his unrealized future.  He proclaimed, “You are wrong! Someday I am going to own the company!”

Working his way up from a field employee to the Director of Operations in 2008, Jason built a great working relationship with one of the owners, Bob Cailor, as well as coworker, Scott Wyler, who also worked in the field before moving into the office as an Estimator/Project Manager the following year.

In 2011, Bob Cailor questioned Jason about his future, asking him "Where do you see yourself, long-term?"  Jason again proclaimed, “Owning the company!”  This gave Bob something serious to ponder over for the next couple years.

In 2013, after observing the great working relationship Jason and Scott developed, Bob requested a breakfast meeting.  Over eggs and toast, Bob asked them if they’d like to purchase the business.  Scott never dreamed he’d have an opportunity of owning the company until it was presented to him that morning.  He was raised that hard work will someday pay off.  Jason and Scott discussed it with their spouses, and both were on board with the opportunity.

To help ease their minds, Bob invited Jason, Scott, and their wives to his home to discuss the deal in more detail.  This helped them further understand the process and put their worries and fear to rest.

Bob had already extended considerable freedom and flexibility to Jason and Scott in their current roles.  This fostered an environment where they felt like a major driving force behind the company, leading them to feel more confident about their choices and skills, ultimately positioning them to better embrace the upcoming challenge.

On January 1, 2015, Jason’s goal came to fruition. He became President, and Scott became Vice President.
